JOLIET, IL (PRWEB) OCTOBER 9, 2019

Joliet Attorney Erin Webster O’Brien Named WCBA President

Attorney Erin Webster O’Brien was recently named President of the Will County Bar Association (WCBA) for the 2019-2020 term. She has been on the WCBA Board of Directors since 2011. Erin is the founder of the law firm Erin Webster O'Brien, P.C.

The WCBA is a non-profit professional organization dedicated to serving and supporting the legal community. The WCBA is committed to providing education, professional development, and service programs for its 500+ members, the legal profession, and the local community. The objectives of the Will County Bar Association include maintaining the integrity of the legal profession; promoting an understanding of the law and its application in the community; and supporting the Bar’s ability to provide public service. This includes an active Lawyer Referral Service and encouraging members to provide Pro Bono services for those in need.

An aggressive advocate for her clients, Erin handles family law cases from negotiations through the settlement process and to the courtroom, if necessary. In addition, she is one of the only attorneys in Will County who practices Collaborative Law.

“I am very proud to be the President of an organization with so many outstanding members of the legal community who have a great sense of camaraderie. I look forward to contributing with my peers in this role. It is an honor to be the fifth female president of the organization,” O’Brien commented.

Licensed as an attorney with the Supreme Court of Illinois and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Erin opened her own law practice with a concentration in family law in 2008. Erin earned a Professional Certification in Divorce Mediation Skills Training from the School of Continuing Studies at Northwestern University. She is also a Fellow of the Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois (CLII).

Erin earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Lewis University, graduating with highest honors, and received her Juris Doctor degree from DePaul University College of Law.

Named a Top 40 Lawyer Under 40 in family law by the American Society of Legal Advocates for 2015, 2016 and 2017, Erin’s firm was also honored with the Herald News Best of Will County Readers’ Choice Award as one of the top three law firms in Will County in 2018.
